  1. Journey to Hell: Halloween Entertainment at Blackpool Pleasure Beach

    Client: Blackpool Pleasure Beach
    Venue Type:
    Theme Park and visitor attraction
    Location:
    Blackpool, Lancashire
    Event:
Journey to Hell, Halloween horror event
    Programme:
    11th – 31st October, 2025
    Audience:
    Families and over-18s
    Big Foot Services:
Halloween walkabout acts, Fire Performers, interactive characters, and live entertainment

    The Brief

Blackpool Pleasure Beach wanted a varied cast of Halloween performers to entertain visitors throughout spooky season in October 2025.

The entertainment needed to complement Journey to Hell while appealing to the attraction’s broad audience. It had to feel scary enough to thrill adult visitors without becoming too frightening for younger guests and families.

The brief was to provide visually striking characters who could interact with visitors, create memorable photo opportunities, and adapt their performances to suit different audiences.

    The Challenge

The challenge was finding a frightfully good balance between horror and family entertainment.

Journey to Hell offered adult visitors a more intense Halloween experience, but Blackpool Pleasure Beach also welcomed families and younger guests who wanted to enjoy the seasonal spirit without being overwhelmed.

The performers therefore needed to assess individual interactions carefully. While some visitors wanted to be frightened, others preferred to meet the characters, take photographs, and engage with them from a more comfortable distance!

With approximately 25-30 performers involved across the programme, the cast also needed enough variety to make each encounter unique while maintaining a consistent Halloween identity.

    The Solution

Big Foot Events created a varied programme of horror entertainment for Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

The line-up combined familiar Halloween characters with visually striking horror acts, providing different styles of performance and interaction throughout Journey to Hell.

    A Varied Halloween Cast

Big Foot Events supplied a cast of roaming characters that included:

    Headless characters
    Witches
    Pumpkin Heads
Day of the Dead stilt walkers
    Possessed Dolls
    Skull Heads

The range of characters created a strong Halloween spirit across the theme park. Their distinctive costumes also gave visitors plenty of fiendishly memorable photo opportunities.

    Adaptable Audience Interactions

The performers adapted their approach according to the guests they encountered.

For adults taking part in Journey to Hell, the characters could offer more intense and theatrical horror interactions, contributing to the frightening atmosphere visitors anticipated from the event.

Younger visitors and families could instead enjoy meet-and-greet and mix-and-mingle opportunities, interacting with the characters and posing for photographs if they felt brave enough!

This flexible approach allowed the same entertainment programme to cater to different age groups without losing the event’s horror spirit.

    Fire Performers

Big Foot Events also supplied Fire Breathers to add high-impact live performance to the programme. The combination of fire, dramatic costumes, and interactive characters created a varied experience that included both roaming encounters and scheduled performance moments.

    What Big Foot Events Delivered

For Journey to Hell at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Big Foot Events provided:

    Approximately 25-30 performers
    Headless walkabout characters
    Pumpkin head characters
Day of the Dead stilt walkers
    Fire breathers
    Possessed doll characters
    Skull head characters
    Horror interactions for adult visitors
    Mix-and-mingle entertainment
    Family-friendly meet and greets
    Halloween photo opportunities
Entertainment tailored to different age groups
Live entertainment across the Journey to Hell programme

    The Result

From 11th – 31st October 2025, Big Foot Events helped Blackpool Pleasure Beach create a Halloween experience that engaged both adult horror fans and younger visitors.

Fire breathers, stilt walkers, and roaming characters gave the entertainment a strong visual impact throughout the attraction. With more intense encounters for those who wanted a scare and approachable interactions for younger visitors, the programme offered something for guests of all ages and confidence levels!

The event proved so successful that Blackpool Pleasure Beach rebooked Big Foot’s Halloween performers for Journey to Hell in October 2026.

  2. 17 Years of Sunshine: How Big Foot Events Helps Bring Sunshine Festival to Life

    Client: Sunshine Festival
Industry: Festivals / Live Music / Family Entertainment
Location: Upton upon Severn, Worcestershire, UK
    Event: Sunshine Festival
Event type: Independent Family Music Festival
    Capacity: 10,000
Client relationship: Working together for 17 years, from the festival’s inception
    Audience: Family-friendly, multi-generational festival audience
Big Foot services: Headline artist booking, artist sourcing, artist negotiations, artist management liaison, fee negotiation, offers, contracts, artist riders, technical and logistical liaison, live music programming, tribute acts, party bands, family entertainment and activities

    The Brief

Big Foot Events has been working with Sunshine Festival in Upton upon Severn, Worcestershire for 17 years – right from its inception. From the outset, we have supported festival owner Steve Castledine, offering ideas and suggestions, sourcing artists, dealing with Artist Managers and Agents, negotiating fees, making offers and liaising over artist riders, technical requirements and logistics. And we’ve booked artists at every level. Over the years, Big Foot Events has worked with Star Names and headline acts including:

Alongside the headline names, we’ve booked hundreds of professional party bands, tribute acts, performers and activities for the festival’s other stages and entertainment areas, including the Main Stage, Westons Stage and Mello Stage. It’s a relationship that has grown alongside the festival itself.

More Than Just a Music Festival

Sunshine Festival is proudly independent, with a capacity of 10,000, and sells out year after year. Around 60% of visitors rebook, which says a great deal about the atmosphere Steve and his team have created. It’s genuinely family friendly and multi-generational, with children attending free with an adult ticket – a huge plus for many families. Even dogs are welcome!

Alongside the live music, visitors can find children’s activities, a Circus Tent, workshops, bouncy inflatables, Zorb water balls, fairground rides, BMX stunt shows and plenty more. We even took our entire Jurassic Earth Show to Sunshine Festival in 2023.

There’s a fantastic choice of independent food stalls too, from Thai – my personal favourite – to Indian, Greek, American, crepes, noodles, steaks, brownies, sweets, fruit and vegetables and much more.

Trade stands range from jewellery, clothing and merchandise to power stations and camping equipment.

There’s even a VIP Tent serving cocktails, bubbles and beers with its own DJ.

The infrastructure, technical capacity, screens and production are second to none, but despite the scale of the festival, Sunshine has retained the friendly atmosphere that has made it so popular. The staff are helpful, the audience is a real mixture of generations and, importantly, it’s an event with a great vibe and no history of trouble or incidents.

    The Challenge

Programming a festival of this size doesn’t begin a few weeks before the gates open. Planning takes place across the entire year. In fact, preparations for the following year’s Sunshine Festival begin before the current year’s festival has even taken place.

For 2026, we started contacting Artist Management in the months before the 2025 Festival to establish which star names were likely to be touring the following year so that Sunshine can reveal at least one major name in the current festival programme, encouraging guests to rebook and secure Priority Tickets for the following year.

That means we’re not only thinking about who’s right for the festival. We’re considering availability, touring schedules, audience demographics, emerging trends, budgets, technical requirements and which artists will help sell tickets a full year ahead.

    Planning the 2026 Line-Up

For 2026, we secured The Proclaimers to headline on Saturday 29th August, announcing them in advance to help generate excitement for the following year’s festival. They ended up being one of my favourite acts of the weekend. When they finished their set with 500 Miles, the entire field was bouncing!

But festival programming isn’t only about established names. It’s also about spotting what audiences are going to want next.

During our planning, it was becoming increasingly apparent that K-Pop was going to be HUGE in 2026. Its popularity amongst younger audiences was surging and TikTok trends were impossible to ignore. We therefore secured KPop Superstars for Sunshine Festival 2026, giving the programme something specifically designed to appeal to that growing younger audience. That’s an important part of what we do for Sunshine – combining established headline names with entertainment that responds to changing audience tastes.

A Very Special Tribute to Bonnie Tyler

We had also booked Bonnie Tyler to perform live at Sunshine Festival 2026. Sadly, Bonnie passed away unexpectedly in July 2026, so the performance could not take place.

We had also booked the inimitable Lorraine Crosby, who has been friends with Bonnie Tyler for 31 years.  The pair toured together and duetted on Through Thick and Thin (I’ll Stand By You) in support of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Lorraine is famous for being the female vocalist who duetted with Meat Loaf on the global hit I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That) and was managed by Jim Steinman back in the 80s.

Lorraine travelled from Newcastle to perform on Sunshine Festival’s Main Stage and performed a special tribute to her friend Bonnie Tyler during her Sunshine Festival appearance. It became one of the most poignant moments of the weekend, bringing some members of the audience to tears. Lorraine was certainly one of the highlights of this year’s line-up. She’s a powerhouse performer with one serious set of pipes on her! The energy and power she brings to a stage is something else. The audience flocked to see her and were completely mesmerised by her performance.

    The 2026 Sunshine Festival Line-Up

Other highlights from Sunshine Festival 2026 included:

    • JLS
    • 10CC
    • Reef
    • The Fratellis
    • Tony Hadley
    • T’Pau
    • The Wonder Stuff
    • The Blockheads
    • The Wurzels
    • Ian Van Dahl
    • Ultrabeat
    • The Symphonic Ibiza Orchestra

The variety is important. Sunshine isn’t aimed at one narrow musical demographic. It’s a family festival where different generations come together, so programming needs to provide something for everyone.

Tribute Acts Travelling from Across the UK

The tribute acts we book for Sunshine Festival are all fully professional performers who regularly travel the length and breadth of the country – and often overseas. For the August Bank Holiday weekend, artists travelled to Upton upon Severn from all over the UK, including:

Other tribute highlights included Harry Styled, Assembly School Bangers, inspired by James B Partridge’s hugely popular Primary School Bangers, and the inimitable Kaiser Monkey Killers – one of the most authentic Indie Rock Tribute Bands around.

This is where having access to a nationwide network of professional performers really matters.

Symphonic Ibiza – And a Little Unexpected Snow

Symphonic Ibiza is always an extravaganza. The combination of live orchestral music, dance classics, a laser light show and a packed festival field creates an electric atmosphere, and it’s consistently one of the most popular nights with Sunshine guests. For 2026, however, we decided to add something extra.

    Snow. In August. Obviously.

We introduced a Snow Machine to create falling snow across the Main Stage. The effect was fantastic. Excited children were leaping and dancing beneath it while adults reached for their phones to video the spectacle. Sometimes it’s the unexpected little additions that create the moments people remember.

    The Great British Weather

One thing none of us can book, negotiate with or put on an artist rider is the Great British weather. It’s always a challenge with an outdoor festival. Sunshine therefore has undercover areas available within the Mello Tent, bar areas and VIP areas, while families can still enjoy undercover activities including the children’s workshop tent and covered fairground attractions. To be fair, most Sunshine guests don’t seem particularly bothered. Wellies and rain-macs are pretty much standard festival attire! Thankfully, 2026 was kind to us overall. Yes, it rained. But the sun also shone brightly and the atmosphere throughout the weekend was fantastic.

    The Result

Over 17 years, Sunshine Festival has grown into a 10,000-capacity independent family festival that sells out year after year. Around 60% of visitors rebook, giving the festival a loyal returning audience alongside the new visitors it attracts each year.

Acts and festival-goers travel from across the country to the beautiful village of Upton upon Severn, while the programme has grown to incorporate household-name artists, live bands, professional tribute acts, family entertainment, children’s activities and large-scale production.

For us, though, one of the strongest measures of success is that after 17 years of working together, Sunshine Festival continues to trust Big Foot Events with its entertainment.

    Client Testimonial

    Festival organiser Steve Castledine said:

“We work solely with Big Foot Events because they are the most professional entertainment agency in the UK. I can trust them and rely on them to dot ‘i’s and cross ‘t’s so that my line-up is secure. They are a huge part of Sunshine Festival.” – Steve Castledine

    What’s Next for Sunshine Festival?

We’re already working on Sunshine Festival’s 18th year in 2027. And, in true Sunshine style, it’s continuing to grow. One of the new additions will be a lake with water sports activities for campers.

And the line-up? So far, Chesney Hawkes, Incognito and Stereo MC’s have been confirmed – with plenty more still to come.

    What This Project Demonstrates

Our 17-year relationship with Sunshine Festival demonstrates a very different side of what a nationwide entertainment agency can provide. Big Foot Events doesn’t simply have acts on a website for clients to choose from. For Sunshine Festival, we work as a year-round entertainment partner, helping to research, source, recommend, negotiate and secure entertainment at every level – from major headline artists and nationally touring bands to professional tribute acts, family entertainment and emerging trends.

We have great relationships with all the major artists, Artist Managers and Agents, negotiate fees, make offers and liaise over riders, technical requirements and logistics. Planning for the next festival begins before the current one has even opened its gates.

Our work also demonstrates the reach of our artist network. For one festival in Upton upon Severn, Worcestershire, we brought together professional performers travelling from Southampton, Devon, Warrington, County Durham, South Wales, Merseyside, Kent, Brighton, Bury, Manchester and elsewhere across the UK.

Over the years, we’ve helped Sunshine Festival secure household names including James Blunt, Joss Stone, Ronan Keating, Blue, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Heather Small, Ella Henderson, Gabrielle, Tony Hadley, ABC featuring Martin Fry, 10CC, UB40 and Busted, alongside hundreds of other performers.

Most importantly, this isn’t a relationship built around one successful weekend. Big Foot Events has worked with Sunshine Festival from its inception for 17 years, supporting Steve Castledine as the festival has grown into a 10,000-capacity independent event that sells out year after year.

For festival organisers looking for an entertainment agency to book headline artists, live bands, tribute acts and family entertainment anywhere throughout the UK, Big Foot Events can provide anything from an individual performer to year-round support with the research, negotiation, programming and booking of an entire festival entertainment line-up.

  3. Going Wild at Great Yarmouth Racecourse: Safari Live Takes Over Race Day

    Client: Great Yarmouth Racecourse
Industry: Racecourse / Visitor Attraction / Family Entertainment
    Location: Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, UK
Event: Go Wild – Safari Live
    Date: 30th August 2026
Event type: Race Day / Family Entertainment
Audience: Hundreds of racegoers and families
Duration: All day, with performances between 12.15pm and 5.30pm
    Performers & event team: 10+
Big Foot services: Large-scale roaming animal entertainment, interactive animal puppets, Rangers, event management, performance scheduling and on-site coordination

    The Brief

Great Yarmouth Racecourse wanted to add something rather wild to its race day on 30th August 2026.

The brief was to create a Safari Live experience, bringing an impressive collection of roaming animals and interactive performers into the racecourse for families to encounter throughout the day. The client wanted entertainment that could create a real spectacle within a very large outdoor space, with different animals appearing throughout the day rather than relying on one fixed performance area.

The experience needed to work around the most important part of any race day – the actual horse racing. With hundreds of visitors attending, the challenge was to create enough entertainment to make an impact across the racecourse while carefully coordinating every appearance around the racing schedule.

    The Challenge

A racecourse presents some rather unique challenges when you’re planning to fill it with elephants, an orangutan, a bear and a collection of other animals – even when yours aren’t real!

Scale was the first challenge. Great Yarmouth Racecourse covers a substantial area, so one roaming performer at a time wouldn’t create the impact the client wanted. We needed enough animals, performers and Rangers to cover the entire event space and allow several activities to take place at the same time.

Timing was absolutely crucial. Our performances had to work around the racing schedule. We needed to ensure that none of our animals or performers interfered with the horse racing. After all, nobody buying a race day ticket should have to choose between watching the horses and meeting a wild elephant!

And then there was the British weather. With an outdoor event and a collection of large-scale animal costumes and puppets to look after, we needed somewhere secure and dry for the performers, animals and equipment throughout the day.

    The Solution

We created a substantial Safari Live roaming entertainment package, with more than ten performers and event staff on site.

Rather than sending individual animals out one after another, we supplied enough operators and Rangers to enable multiple animals to roam at the same time. This meant we could cover a much larger area of Great Yarmouth Racecourse and create several guest interactions simultaneously, making the Safari Live experience feel much bigger and more visible across the venue.

    The Safari Live line-up included:

    Large Elephant

Our Large Elephant provided three 20-minute roaming appearances throughout the day. With its sheer size and realism, it created an instant spectacle as it travelled through the permitted areas of the racecourse and interacted with visitors. Many believed it was a real elephant!

    Baby Elephant

Not quite as enormous – but every bit as popular – our Baby Elephant is so cute, and also made three 20-minute appearances. Having both the large and baby elephants gave us two very different roaming experiences and plenty of opportunities for family interaction and photographs. Who doesn’t love a Mother and Baby combo?

    Orangutan

Our Orangutan performed three 30-minute roaming sessions. He is lots of fun and children love to copy his antics and arm movements! His ranger invited younger guests to brush his teeth – which isn’t necessarily what you expect to see on a day at the races – which was rather the point!

    Brown Bear

Our Brown Bear joined the Safari Live line-up for three 20-minute roaming appearances throughout the day.

    Panda Bear

Our Panda took a rather less conventional approach to getting around the racecourse. Travelling around the permitted areas on our Jungle Bike, the Panda performed three 30-minute roaming sessions, interacting with guests along the way.

    Animal Puppets & Rangers

Four different Animal Puppets, including a Snake, a baby Hippo, a Parrot and a baby Panda, accompanied by our Rangers, added even more roaming entertainment. The Animal Puppets performed three 20-minute sessions, creating smaller, interactive encounters alongside the larger headline animals.

With six Rangers on site, we were able to operate several roaming experiences simultaneously helping bring the whole Safari Live experience to life.

Keeping Safari Live Running Around the Racing

A dedicated Big Foot Event Event Manager coordinated the entertainment scheduled between 12.15pm and 5.30pm, with up to three hours of Safari Live entertainment spread across the afternoon.

Our Event Manager controlled the timings so performances didn’t overlap with the racing, allowing visitors to enjoy both elements of their day. It meant guests could watch the races and experience the Safari Live entertainment, helping Great Yarmouth Racecourse give visitors more from their race day ticket rather than making them choose between the two.

    Preparing for the Weather

We also brought our own marquee to Great Yarmouth Racecourse. This provided a dedicated set-up and holding area where our animals, costumes, performers and equipment could remain protected and dry between appearances. Set-up began from 9am, giving the team plenty of time to prepare ahead of the first public performances. It was a simple but important part of making sure the entertainment could operate successfully whatever the Great British weather decided to throw at us.

    What Big Foot Events Delivered

For Go Wild – Safari Live at Great Yarmouth Racecourse, Big Foot Events provided:

    • Large Elephant – three 20-minute roaming appearances
    • Baby Elephant – three 20-minute roaming appearances
    • Orangutan – three 30-minute roaming appearances
    • Brown Bear – three 20-minute roaming appearances
    • Panda Bear on a Jungle Bike – three 20 minute roaming appearances
    • Four interactive Baby Animal Puppets – three 20 minute roaming appearances
    • Six Safari Rangers
    • 10+ performers and event personnel
    • Dedicated Big Foot Event Manager
    • Multiple animals roaming simultaneously
    • Entertainment across permitted areas of the racecourse
    • Performance scheduling around the horse racing
    • On-site coordination throughout the event
    • Dedicated marquee for performers, animals and equipment
    • Weather contingency
    • Set-up from 9am
    • Up to three hours of Safari Live entertainment spread throughout the day
    • Delivery and operation at Great Yarmouth Racecourse in Norfolk

    The Result

Safari Live proved a huge hit with visitors. The race day achieved incredible ticket sales, with hundreds of guests attending and a really positive response to the new animal entertainment.

Perhaps just as importantly for an event of this size, the client reported zero complaints!

With multiple animals, more than ten performers and staff, a huge outdoor site, unpredictable weather and a live horse-racing schedule to work around, that’s a result we’re rather proud of. Our careful scheduling meant visitors could enjoy the roaming animals without missing the racing, while having several animals performing simultaneously helped us create the scale and spectacle needed for such a large venue.

And Great Yarmouth Racecourse was sufficiently pleased with Safari Live that the conversation very quickly turned to one important question: What can we do next year?

    Client Feedback

Following the event, Great Yarmouth Racecourse told us:

“It was great. The reception from the crowd and the feedback we’ve received has been really positive. So, I’m happy.”

But perhaps the best indication that Safari Live had done its job came immediately afterwards:

“What price could you do it for next year?”

We’ll take that as a yes, then!

    What This Project Demonstrates

Go Wild – Safari Live demonstrates Big Foot Events’ ability to deliver large-scale roaming family entertainment for racecourses, visitor attractions, festivals, shopping centres, outdoor events and family days in Norfolk, East Anglia and throughout the UK.

It also shows that our large-scale creature entertainment extends well beyond dinosaurs.

For Great Yarmouth Racecourse, we brought together elephants, an orangutan on a Jungle Bike, a Brown Bear, four Animal Puppets, six Rangers and a dedicated Event Manager, creating a complete Safari Live experience rather than simply supplying an individual roaming act.

The scale of the venue required us to think differently about how the entertainment operated. By supplying enough performers and operators for multiple animals to roam simultaneously, we could cover more of the racecourse and create interactions in different areas at the same time.

Just as importantly, this project demonstrates the operational side of delivering entertainment within a working venue.

Our Event Manager coordinated every appearance around the day’s horse racing, ensuring our animals remained within permitted areas and that performances didn’t clash with the races. Visitors could therefore enjoy the additional family entertainment without missing the main event they’d bought their tickets to see.

We also arrived prepared for the realities of an outdoor British event, bringing our own marquee to provide a dedicated dry holding and preparation area for the team, animals and equipment.

The result was a successful race day with strong ticket sales, hundreds of visitors, positive audience feedback and zero complaints – followed almost immediately by the client asking for a price to bring Safari Live back again next year.

For venues and event organisers looking for roaming animal entertainment, safari-themed family entertainment or large-scale interactive creatures in Norfolk, East Anglia or elsewhere throughout the UK, Big Foot Events can provide anything from individual animal appearances to complete multi-performer Safari Live packages with Rangers and on-site event management.

  4. A Roarsome Weekend: Jurassic Earth’s Dinosaur Takeover at Wellington Country Park

    Client: Wellington Country Park
Industry: Visitor Attraction / Family Entertainment / Outdoor Events
Location: Wellington Country Park, Berkshire, UK
    Event: Dinosaur Takeover
    Dates: 1st–3rd August 2026
Event type: Family Attraction / Dinosaur Event
Client relationship: Working with Wellington Country Park since 2018, with the exception of 2020 due to Covid
Attendance: 4,500 visitors across three days
    Overall occupancy: 83%
Big Foot services: Dinosaur shows, animatronic dinosaur entertainment, arena performances, Ranger Training, Baby Dinosaurs, Dinosaur Hatchery installation, interactive entertainment and dinosaur photo opportunities

    The Brief

Big Foot Events and our Jurassic Earth team have been working with Wellington Country Park in Berkshire since 2018, returning every year apart from 2020 when Covid put a temporary stop to the dinosaurs’ annual excursion to Welly Park!

Over the years, the event has become more and more popular and bigger and bigger, so for 2026 the client wanted to build on the success of previous years and develop the Dinosaur Takeover even further. Rather than simply repeating what we’d done before, we worked with Wellington Country Park to rethink how the dinosaur entertainment could work across the venue.

The aim was to create specific feature shows incorporating multiple dinosaurs, encourage visitors to explore different areas of the park and create an event programme that could cope with the growing number of families coming to see the dinosaurs.

    And they certainly came!

    The Challenge

As the popularity of Wellington Country Park’s Dinosaur Takeover has grown, so has the challenge of delivering it.

One of the biggest changes for 2026 was the way the dinosaurs performed. Rather than each dinosaur appearing in individual sets throughout the day, the client wanted feature arena performances involving multiple dinosaurs and a rolling show.

The shows needed to be substantial enough to feel like a real event within the day, but not so long that we lost the attention of our younger dinosaur fans. We therefore created two different 40-minute arena productions, each performed twice during the day. This would enable guests to watch each show then feel free to explore other areas without the worry of missing something. This was an important consideration. With so much to see, the client didn’t want everyone congregating in one area of Wellington Country Park. We needed to use the entertainment to encourage families to explore different parts of the park, spreading visitors between the Barn, Basecamp and Arena.

And then there was the weather. The event took place during a UK heatwave. Anyone who has ever worn a giant dinosaur costume will understand the sheer weight and heat involved when operating a large animatronic costume! Suffice to say you can cancel your Gym membership if you’re a Dinosaur operator!

Careful scheduling, hydration breaks and looking after our performers is always an important part of our criteria, but even more so during a three-day event in summer.

    The Solution

We created a substantial three-day Jurassic Earth package and divided the activities between three different areas of Wellington Country Park.

    In The Barn

The Barn became home to our Dinosaur Hatchery, creating an interactive dinosaur area families could visit throughout the day to learn about our new hatchlings and looking after young dinosaurs, including cleaning out the cages singing them lullabies.

Our original proposal included Dr Bones and the Dinosaur Hatchery, with Dr Bones performing five 20-minute sets throughout the day. Wellington Country Park ultimately decided to staff the Hatchery themselves, so Big Foot Events supplied and installed the complete Hatchery ready for their team to operate.

Our Baby Dinosaurs also appeared for five 20-minute sets throughout the day, giving younger visitors the opportunity to get up close to some rather more manageable prehistoric residents.

    Basecamp

At Basecamp, it was time to find out whether Welly Park’s young recruits had what it takes to become dinosaur rangers. Here they had to learn the commands and signals so they could control our larger dinosaurs in the event of a ‘Break Out’!

Ranger Training ran for five 20-minute sessions throughout the day, creating another interactive experience away from the main Arena.

We also installed a Giant Dinosaur Egg photo opportunity, giving families another reason to visit Basecamp – and, naturally, take a few photos while they were there.

    The Arena

The biggest change for 2026 was our new programme of multi-dinosaur rolling shows. Instead of individual dinosaur appearances, we created two completely different 40-minute productions.

Our Herbivore Show was performed twice each day, once in the morning and again in the afternoon, featuring:

Then things got a little more dangerous and toothy….

Our Carnivore Predator Show also performed twice each day and featured:

By combining several dinosaurs into each performance, we were able to create bigger feature moments within the event while keeping each production short enough to hold the attention of younger children.

    • Entertainment programmed across three different areas of the park
    • Three consecutive days of dinosaur entertainment
    • Jurassic Earth Rangers and dinosaur operators
    • Delivery and operation at Wellington Country Park in Berkshire

    The Result

2026 became the biggest Dinosaur Takeover yet, with Wellington Country Park recording some of its busiest days in several years.

    Visitor numbers were:

    1st August: 1,628 visitors
    2nd August: 1,760 visitors
    3rd August: 1,112 visitors

That’s a total of 4,500 visitors across the three-day event and an overall occupancy rate of 83%.

The new format also enabled us to create larger feature performances while using the different activities to encourage families to explore more of Wellington Country Park.

Most importantly, the dinosaurs did what they do best – created some very excited children, plenty of memories and more than a few roars.

    Client Feedback

Following the event, the team at Wellington Country Park sent us some rather lovely feedback:

“I also wanted to say a huge thank you to you, Erica, and especially the Jurassic Earth team we had on site over the weekend. They are genuinely some of the best, easiest, and most passionate people we have the pleasure of working with. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and they put on such an incredible show.”

They also told us just how successful the weekend had been:

“We had some of our busiest days in several years, and that’s partly down to how fantastic they are.”

One particularly lovely part of the feedback concerned some of Welly Park’s regular visitors:

“We have a few huge Welly Park fans, and the team, particularly Ranger Flora, always go the extra mile for them, which we absolutely love.”

And our team apparently recruited one rather important new dinosaur…

Wellington Country Park arranged for their very excited new General Manager to have a go in one of our dinosaur suits – luckily in the morning before they got too sweaty!

    The client added:

“I think that really sealed the deal for him. It also showed him just how adaptable and accommodating the team are.”

Wellington Country Park is one of our Jurassic Earth team’s favourite venues. Although, as the client quite rightly pointed out, we might say that to everyone…

    What The Guests Said

It wasn’t only our client who enjoyed the weekend. One visitor who had previously brought their own children to Wellington Country Park returned with the next generation:

“We used to take our children here many years ago and are now enjoying taking our Grandchildren. We thoroughly enjoyed the dino takeover yesterday, it was absolutely awesome – or should I say roarsome!”

Another family managed an impressive eight-hour day at the park:

“We had an absolutely fabulous day! I took my 2 grandsons (5 and 3) for the dinosaur takeover and we had such a blast! We arrived at 9.30am and didn’t leave again until 5.30pm.”

And for a prehistoric take on a review, another guest wrote:

“We came for the Dino take over. My two little boys had a T-rexific time!”

    We’ll take that.

    What This Project Demonstrates

Wellington Country Park’s Dinosaur Takeover demonstrates Big Foot Events and Jurassic Earth’s ability to provide large-scale dinosaur entertainment for visitor attractions, theme parks, country parks, shopping centres, festivals and family events in Berkshire, the South East and throughout the UK.

It also demonstrates how a successful annual event can evolve rather than simply be repeated.

We’ve worked with Wellington Country Park since 2018 – missing only 2020 due to Covid – and have watched the popularity of its Dinosaur Takeover grow year after year. For 2026, we worked with the client to change the format, creating multi-dinosaur arena productions and spreading interactive entertainment across different areas of the park.

The result was the event’s largest footfall to date, with 4,500 visitors over three days and an overall occupancy rate of 83%.

It also shows the scale of entertainment Big Foot Events can physically deliver to a venue. This wasn’t simply one T-Rex turning up for a walkabout. The package incorporated six large dinosaurs, Baby Dinosaurs, two different arena productions, Ranger Training, a Dinosaur Hatchery, a Giant Dinosaur Egg photo opportunity and a full Jurassic Earth team, operating across multiple areas of Wellington Country Park for three consecutive days.

And when a heatwave decided to join us, our team adapted the programme and looked after both performers and dinosaurs – because a giant T-Rex may look terrifying, but there’s still a rather warm human being inside him!

After working together since 2018, Wellington Country Park remains a brilliant example of the long-term relationships we build with our clients and how we can continue developing an event as its audience and popularity grow.

For attractions and event organisers looking for dinosaur hire, dinosaur shows, interactive dinosaur experiences or complete dinosaur events in Berkshire, London, the South East or elsewhere throughout the UK, Big Foot Events and Jurassic Earth can create anything from individual dinosaur appearances to complete multi-day prehistoric takeovers.

    Client: Murraywood Construction
    Event: 30th anniversary celebration
    Venue: The Midland Hotel
    Date: 9th May 2026
    Event type: Corporate anniversary celebration
Theme / styling: Luxury black and gold
Big Foot services: Event management, production, venue dressing, lighting, styling, live entertainment, speciality performers, interactive entertainment, photography and experiential elements

    The Brief

Murraywood Construction wanted to celebrate 30 years in business with an evening that recognised the company’s milestone and, importantly, gave its staff a celebration worthy of their contribution. The brief was to create a luxury corporate anniversary event with an elevated environment, immersive entertainment and statement styling that would make an impact from the moment guests arrived. The event needed to combine sophisticated production and décor with a varied entertainment programme, while creating an atmosphere that felt celebratory, engaging and appropriate for a significant company milestone.

    The Challenge

The event was almost a year in the planning, and the creative brief evolved during the process, including a change in the overall theming direction.

With a highly detailed production and multiple entertainment elements to coordinate, consistency across the event was essential. Décor, lighting, entertainment, guest experiences and the overall environment needed to work together as one cohesive celebration.

There was also an important human element to the brief. The event needed to feel genuinely reflective of Murraywood Construction and its staff, rather than simply being a visually impressive corporate party.

On the event day, final adjustments to décor and layout required the Big Foot team to adapt quickly while maintaining the intended guest experience and production standards.

    The Solution

Big Foot created a sophisticated black-and-gold event environment at The Midland Hotel, combining statement décor and lighting with a varied programme of live, interactive and speciality entertainment.

The entertainment was deliberately structured to provide different experiences throughout the evening, from arrival and mix-and-mingle entertainment through to high-impact performance moments.

    Event Production & Environment Design

Big Foot managed the overall event production and environment design, including:

    • Full event management
    • Venue dressing
    • Feature areas
    • Lighting
    • Immersive styling
    • Black-and-gold décor
    • Illuminated Murraywood Construction lettering
    • LED ’30’ numbers
    • A bespoke ice sculpture
    • These elements transformed the venue into a cohesive environment centred around Murraywood Construction’s 30-year milestone.

    Live Entertainment

The live entertainment programme combined music, speciality acts and a professional compere. Guests experienced:

    • Live music from Amy G
    • Live music from Jo Ashcroft
    • An LED Cyr wheel performance
    • Showgirls
    • A professional compere

The entertainment was designed to build energy throughout the evening while providing distinct performance moments rather than relying on a single form of entertainment.

    Interactive Guest Entertainment

Big Foot also provided a range of interactive experiences designed to keep guests engaged throughout the event. These included:

    • Casino tables with professional croupiers
    • Close-up and mix-and-mingle magic
    • Live caricatures
    • Roaming entertainment
    • Paparazzi-style photography

These activities gave guests opportunities to participate and interact between the main performance moments.

    Experiential Bar Entertainment

Flair bartenders provided performance-led interaction as part of the cocktail bar experience, adding another visual and interactive element to the evening.

    What Big Foot Delivered

The completed event combined event management, production, styling, entertainment and guest experiences within a single anniversary celebration.

    • Flair bartenders
    • Paparazzi-style photography
    • Dedicated photo opportunities

    Managing Changes on the Day

A key part of the delivery was the team’s ability to respond to changes without allowing them to affect the guest experience.

Final adjustments to décor and layout required flexibility from the production team on the day. With multiple suppliers, entertainment elements and production requirements involved, maintaining clear coordination and a solutions-focused approach was essential.

The Big Foot team adapted to the changes while maintaining the overall look, flow and production standards of the event.

    The Result

The completed celebration gave Murraywood Construction an opportunity to mark its 30-year milestone while recognising the contribution of its staff.

The event maintained a steady flow of entertainment and guest interaction from arrival through to the final moments of the evening, combining live music, speciality performances, interactive experiences and a professionally managed event environment.

  10. Love at First Sight: Creating Visual Impact at Events

First impressions matter. Strong visual design creates atmosphere, encourages engagement, and transforms a space into something immersive and memorable.

Whether it’s full event dressing, statement staging and lighting, interactive elements, or roaming performers, a well-designed entrance sets expectations high from the very start.

    Interactive Installations
Visual Impact - Giant Love Heart Prop with Performer

Installations give guests a reason to step in and engage. Ball Pits – whether our one-of-a-kind photobooth or modular installation – add a unique and nostalgic element that instantly draws attention. Themed trails guide guests through a space, encouraging intuitive exploration. 3D props create scale and impact, while interactive features turn passive attendees into active participants.

For seasonal events, our Giant Love Heart glows at the centre of a Valentine’s celebration. For a themed experience, it might be Jurassic Park-style gates, setting the scene before they’ve stepped inside.

    Themed Performers

Visual impact doesn’t always stand still. Showgirls, stilt walkers, and themed performers add height, movement, and energy to a room. Paparazzi-style hosts create a red-carpet feel on arrival. Roaming acts bring surprise moments to different corners of your venue, ensuring the atmosphere never falls flat.

    Themed Decor

Full event dressing transforms a blank canvas into a complete, immersive world. Draping reshapes a space, statement table centres transform dining spaces, and props create cohesion throughout the venue.

    Production Equipment

Production brings everything to life. Lighting defines mood and depth, special effects such as dry ice, confetti and glitter cannons, or spark effects, and snow machines create high-impact and unforgettable moments.

Because when it comes to events, love at first sight really does exist.

  11. How Big Foot Events Transformed the British Museum into a Dinosaur-Filled Christmas Party

    Client: British Museum
    Industry: Museum / Corporate Events
    Location: London, UK
    Event: Staff Christmas Party
    Date: December 2025
    Event type: Corporate Christmas Party
    Theme: Jurassic / Prehistoric
Big Foot services: Dinosaur entertainment, interactive performers, themed props, event décor, bespoke prop design, dinosaur hatchery, photo opportunities and immersive entertainment

    The Brief

In December 2025, Big Foot Events were thrilled to deliver a dinosaur-filled Christmas party for staff at the British Museum in London.

As one of the busiest months in the events calendar, December saw our Dinosaur team delivering a festive run of Jurassic experiences across the UK, including a corporate Christmas party for Furniture Village at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole and a series of adult and children’s celebrations at Venue16 in Norwich.

Despite the packed schedule, this iconic London venue demanded meticulous planning and a truly bespoke prehistoric experience. Our client wanted their museum floor transformed into an immersive Jurassic party, complete with roaming Dinosaurs, expert, engaging Rangers and a full Prop and décor package that complemented the grandeur of the British Museum. Every element needed to feel authentic, engaging and carefully considered.

    The Challenge

Turning a world-renowned museum into a Jurassic party space came with some unique constraints. All props had to be positioned with extreme care to avoid any risk to museum treasures or the venue itself.

Additionally, several bespoke props needed to be designed and built specifically for the event, including custom signage and electric fencing props around the dance-floor. These props had to be fully battery-operated and securely weighted to meet the venue’s requirements.

With a limited setup window, our team had to work quickly while maintaining Big Foot Events’ high production standards. December’s tight turnaround between events in different locations across the UK added further pressure, making efficiency, logistics and careful planning absolutely essential.

    The Solution

To maximise efficiency, the British Museum provided on-site storage for props and equipment the day before the event. This allowed our team to stage items close to their final locations and avoid unloading from vans on the day, significantly reducing setup time.

Every inch of the museum floor was carefully mapped in advance. We strategically placed each element, ensuring both safety and visual impact.

The final setup included custom British Museum Park gates, static dinosaur props for photo opportunities, dinosaur eggs, palm trees, a baby dinosaur Hatchery and Gyrosphere.

Our expert Dinosaur Rangers and roaming dinosaurs then brought the prehistoric environment to life, interacting with guests and creating an immersive Jurassic experience throughout the evening.

    Big Brother Photobooth Ball Pit

    The Brief

For Big Brother Series 17, ITV invited press, media and influencers to an exclusive press night at Versa Studios in London.

Big Foot Events provided our fully branded Photobooth Ball Pit, giving guests an eye-catching, interactive photo opportunity and creating a playful activation designed specifically for the Big Brother brand. Our fabulous client wanted a unique photo moment for their press night that felt playful, bold and instantly shareable. The activation needed to reflect the Big Brother brand clearly, encourage a high volume of guest-generated content and integrate seamlessly into the press night experience.

    The Challenge

The press night demanded an installation that could immediately capture attention in a fast-paced media environment. ITV needed something playful, highly shareable and on-brand, while still being dynamic and immersive. Strong brand presence was essential, so the installation needed to be adaptable and completely customisable. Guests also needed to be engaged quickly, with memorable moments delivered in seconds. On top of this, coordinating a fully branded installation for a major television press event in London, from concept through to de-rig, required careful project management to ensure everything ran smoothly on the day.

    The Solution

Our one-of-a-kind Photobooth Ball Pit met every challenge.

We worked closely with our client to customise every element. They selected a palette of five custom colours from our brochure to match their branding, which we used alongside bespoke ‘iris’ balls to create a vibrant, eye-catching ball pit.

The Photobooth Ball Pit was fully customisable, from the backdrop and exterior branding to the balls themselves, allowing the Big Brother brand to shine through every element.

Branded digital photocards provided guests with instant, shareable takeaways, ensuring the activation made an immediate impact both at the event and online.

Working closely with the client, our team managed the entire process from initial concept through to build, delivery to Versa Studios in London, installation, on-site operation and de-rig, delivering a seamless and memorable experience.
